This year’s/last Saturday’s Tour de Fat in Palmer Square was another big fat blast!
The day kicked off with a neighborhood bike ride (see map–same as last year’s–at Impact of da Tour de Fat) that once again rolled up Milwaukee

Avenue between Logan Square proper and Diversey Avenue (see what riders saw in video below), and continued around Logan Square’s square and around Logan Square, the neighborhood.
Bike riders arrived at the festival in style (photo left; these seemed to be the lowriders of the fest, and appeared to have replaced the Rat Patrol, whose presence I did not notice this year, hmmm)…

…and in droves (photo right).
You might even say this year’s festival was twice the fun as attendance doubled to 3000 strong and the money raised for West Town Bikes nearly doubled to over $22,000.
Again, someone traded his car for a bike, and local band Mucca Pazza took the festival out in its own irreverent musical style (photo below).

If you missed it again, do not miss it next year!
JazzCity: 3rd Annual Latin Jazz Festival, Friday, July 17, 7:30 (n.b: a partner in the event says 7:00 p.m.) to 9:30 p.m. at the Humboldt Park Boathouse overlooking the lagoon. Here are the sounds of Paulinho Garcia, Latin Inspiration and the Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble to get you in the mood.

I’m so glad New Belgium uses Logan Square for their event, it makes me really proud.

I’m so proud too! I love that Tour de Fat was at Palmer Square, just around the corner from my place. My friends and I had so much fun at the fest.
I have more photos here if you’re interested.
