Holiday diversions in Logan Square: CTA Holiday Train

All aboard! The CTA Holiday Train rolls through Logan Square today, Wednesday, and Saturday, November 29.

Today, the southbound/Forest Park Blue Line train will reach the Logan Square stop at approximately 2:56 p.m.

A little bit later, the northbound/O’Hare Blue Line train will hit the Logan Square stop at approximately 4:59 p.m.

The Holiday Train is decked out inside and out with seasonal decorations and lights and includes a flatbed car carrying Santa and his reindeer.

On Saturday, there’s a photo opportunity with Santa and his elves at the O’Hare stop from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., so the triple treat approach would be to catch the afternoon northbound Holiday Train from Logan Square at 4:26 p.m., get your pictures with Santa at O’Hare, and return on the early evening southbound Holiday Train, arriving back at the Logan Square stop at 6:13 p.m. Another northbound train rolls through Logan Square at 8:11 p.m.

A couple of years ago there was also a #56 Milwaukee Avenue Holiday Bus. Does anyone know if that tradition continues?

Wow, great idea! I wish they did that on the trains here, it looks so fun and festive! Also stopping by to say hi as part of this weeks 52WoC task 🙂
