Logan Square represents “Best of Chicago 2009”
Kudos! are once again in order for some notable Logan Square businesses honored by the Chicago Reader (see Windy City Links in right column) and its readers as the “Best of Chicago 2009.”
Last year’s “Best of” in Logan Square represented more conventional categories like Best Florist, Best Barbeque and Best Restaurant.
This year Logan Square shines in some quirkier classifications.
Logan Square Auditorium on the square is honored as the Reader’s Best All-Ages Venue.

Another Reader choice this year is the Best Foo-Foo Coffee Drink found at Logan Square’s Vella Café. Vella may be located far off the actual square, but makes regular summer appearances on the square at the Logan Square Farmer’s Market (see A Square Link or Two in right column).

This year readers of the Reader again had their say and chose young Logan Square designer Anna Hovet as Best Clothing Designer.

Although the numbers are the same as last year, I think Logan Square is underrepresented this year, so I scratched the surface for additional Logan Square connections in Logan Square six degrees from Reader’s 2009 “Best of” list over at the Logan Square Examiner page. Avondale shows well on Reader’s 2009 “Best of” list is also posted there.
