Scene in Logan Square: The Metronome Celebration

Street Festival.php

Metronome, a new street/music festival, takes place Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, from 12 noon* to 10 p.m. on Milwaukee Avenue between Armitage Avenue and Rockwell Street.

This is exciting! Rock, punk, folk, electronic, and “local talent” — these are your music choices at the newly minted Metronome Celebration.  Plus, the usual street fair fare.  Plus, Metronome pledges to celebrate green.  Plus, donations will go to support local schools and community organizations.

Kid Color sets the mood Saturday at noon on the Electronic stage; Los Vicios de Papá offers up some local talent mid-afternoon; John Vanderslice headlines the evening on the Rock stage; and many acts perform in between.

Sunday shifts focus to punk and folk music.  And amongst the many weekend offerings, you’ll have to choose mid-afternoon between Bicycle, Tricyle, The Giving Tree Band, and The Effigies.

Have a great time keeping time at the Metronome Celebration!

On Sunday, don’t forget to visit another Scene in Logan Square: Logan Square Farmers Market.

*It looks like Sunday starts as early as 10:30 a.m. with a gospel breakfast with the Urban Vineyard church.
